My friend is switching from clarinet to alto saxophone. Help?
AH! I don’t want him to switch! He is really good at clarinet. Anyways, here is what he is wondering. He plays on a Vandoren #3 reed on clarinet. What reed should he play on saxophone?

I have played clarinet for 7 years and when i switched to sax 3 years ago (i still Play clarinet) i found it really easy to play a 2.5 on sax. I think that the reed hardness is the same for any instrument. I went from a three on clarinet to a 2.5 on sax and it was easy. Not sure sure but that seemed to be the case for me. Your friend should have an easy time switching to sax.
