GPS/Tom Tom Question – Is there a place to download maps for the Tom Tom One 3rd Edition for free?
My father-in-law got one for Xmas and I was trying to find a place (other than the Tom Tom website) to get them for his GPS unit. The official website charges for maps (LAME!!!!)

It should have the latest maps on it. Are you looking for POI (points of interest) files? ie. Starbucks, Harley, Target etc.? If so you can do a google search for free POI and there’s a ton of them for free, Also you need to search for POI editor because most of these files are .cvs for Garmin and with the free POI editor you can open and then save them in the TomTom format, then copy them to the TomTom and your set. But as for maps so far as I know you can only get them from TomTom.
