is the Peavey Student Size Acoustic Guitar from target a good guitar?
i really want to teach myself to play Guitar and i only have 65 dollers and i really want the guitar fast and this guitar is 60 but i was planing to buy the Acoustic Guitar for Dummies Package which is 99.99 from target what should i do? and are these 2 any good? best answer gets *10 POINTS*
The old adage you get what you pay for applies here. No, it’s not a good deal. Go to your local guitar shop and notice I said guitar shop and not music store. There are several brands and models of acoustic classical nylon stringed guitars for between $100.00 and $150.00. I would recommend you start on the nylon strings as they are easier on your fingers, the neck and fingerboard are a little wider so you can spread out your fingers to learn chords and build your callouses. Also check the local musicians board for guitars that are for sale. Craig’s list has a large selection of for sale guitars and they usually have pictures and descriptions, but it is a buyer beware so check them out. The employees at the guitar store will help you too. Play a few if not many to find one that is comfortable for you, has a sound you like and in general feels good. Remember this only a starter and you’ll want to upgrade probably pretty soon and the guitar shop may have discounts for players who buy all the time in their store. Mine does this and I usually get 10 to 25% off, free picks, discounted strings etc. They do my setups and any repairs.
