ROFL – I’m really sorry- but those first two answers have me chuckling. They are cute but way off. A solid top on a guitar simply means that the top of the guitar – the soundboard, is one single piece of wood. It is not laminated. Laminated tops have several layers of wood glued together for strength. A solid top will always sound better than a laminated top guitar. The presence or lack of sound holes has nothing to do with this question. So yes, solid top is good- but usually more expensive. Sold back and sides is better, but even more expensive.
