Why has monotheism largely replaced polytheism?
To me having many gods/goddesses makes far more since then one ruler for everyone. It just would make a lot more sense if there was a god of life, a god of death, a god of the sky, earth, etc. I do not understand why there is just “one god for all”.. nearly all the ‘big’ religions have just one god, but why? Surely you may say that your God is the one, but think for a moment. Would you rather having just one person in government who runs everything and has full say on every decision, or many people? It just makes more sense to have alto of gods.. maybe it is just me. I’m an Atheist by the way, but if any Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc, wish to respond.. please do.
