Is it too late to join the school band again?
I’ve been playing the flute since 5th grade all the way till 8th grade, then i quit. Now i’m a freshman in high school and i regret quitting, and i really want to join band again. Can i still join the band my sophmore year? What do you think?
You should be able to. If you were a transfer student entering the school in 10th grade, you would be able to join. You may have to practice a bit more to perhaps make up for the time lost, assuming you didn’t play at all your freshman year.
I started out as a flute player in 4th grade. I played in orchestra and band throughout middle school. When I was a sophmore in HS I started the bassoon, to learn something new. Just having the music background enabled me to get quickly up to speed even though it was a different instrument. Keep up your music, you can be involved with many aspects of playing music throughout your entire life. You won’t ever regret it.
