Saxophone Mouthpiece
My new tenor saxophone mouthpiece ALWAYS plays out of tune! Help!?
I have been playing the sax for 9 years on plastic mouthpieces, but I just recently bought a metal mouthpiece, and it ALWAYS plays out of tune, almost a full note sharp, no matter what I do. I pull the mouthpiece to the point of falling off the neck, adjust my embouchure, I even pull the neck out from the body a little bit, and it’s still really sharp. Is there anything I can do to fix this as far as getting a new, maybe customized longer neck for the saxophone, or making adjustments to the mouthpiece itself?
You have a metal mouthpiece? If you are Sharp, you need to make yourself flatter so yeah, you need to make the instrument as big as you can. I think it is time for you to change your emboucher then, your going to need to have a loose mouth and lip it down as much as you can (Lower your jaw). If this doesn’t work and your still sharp, I think it is just a faulty mouthpiece because this shouldn’t be happening
