Where is the best place to buy a high F# ALTO saxophone???
I play the ALTO saxophone and I am looking to own one but I don’t know where to buy a good one. I am trying to find a place that sales a high f# alto sense high F# is not normally played on an old fashion saxophone. So If you have any suggestions PLEASE answer.
Actually, F# IS played on an “old fashion” saxophone… there are more than 10 fingerings for it. This is the beginning of the altissimo range for sax, and it will take some work to learn it, but it IS done quite often. Here’s a chart for altissimo fingerings:

But anymore, nearly any and all intermediate and pro models have the high F# key… it’s pretty standard.
Try wwbw.com, musiciansfriend.com, amazon.com, etc. I would recommend that you actually try one in your local music store so you can try before you buy- you never really know what you’re going to get online!
