Help! I Need Alto sax mpc.i play rock music. i like la voz reeds (i play my alto like a bari) any suggestions?
so i own a alto and i play bari sax and bass clarinet also. i need a new mouth peice i will be using this for a rock band i dont want it to be too harsh but its better than being too smooth (i was thinking maybe a metal otto link with a huge opening 8 star or a 9 maybe) any suggestions
What you suggested may be fine, but go try mouthpieces. What works for one person does not work for another. I’ve seen four people use the exact same setup (handing the same saxophone around) and we all got four different sounds out of the instrument. Go to as many stores as possible, try as many mouthpieces as possible, and then decide what gives you the tone you want. After all, is there a standard of what is “too harsh”, or “too smooth”? This is all personal taste and you have to decide what YOU like.
