Quality questions on Sabian, Zildjian, and Paiste cymbals?
PLEASE READ ALL OF WHAT I HAVE TO SAY! I have read up on lots about which to get, so here I go. I’m not here to ask for which, because you will say ‘whatever suites your style’ or ‘whatever you like’. I have plenty of time to find which suites my style and what sounds best, but i have these questions: How are the qualities for each? On Amazon they sell packs of cymbals, which i might get, or I may just as likely get all of them used. How long will they last? Also, I may not be able to test them out in person, so any comments regarding volume would be great also. Thanks a bunch you guys. (Btw, I fell in love with the Paiste signature bell ride Powerslave cymbal after I saw Nicko McBrain showing it off in a YouTube video, and they’re not as common which would make me more unique, Zildjians are really popular with great reviews, and Sabian are used by Neil Peart and they sound warm, so yeah)
all of those three companies makes great cymbals
as for the sound you have to try then yourself or if you can’t then go the zildjian/ sabian/ paiste website to hear the cymbal clips
a cymbal can last for a long as long as you have the right hitting technique.
I currently use the Sabian AAX series, they’re awesome and I’ve had them for almost a year now and hadn’t brake any. Before I used the Zildjian A Customs and they sound incredible but they are pretty thin and I broke three of the crashes (16, 18, 19) in a year. Paistes are also pretty good, my friend uses them (the 2002) and they sound awesome and they are durable too.
