Junior Drum
Should I do drum major or march?
I have been in my band for two years and I’ll be a junior for this year. Drum major tryouts are soon and I’ve been involved in the classes since day 1. My director says I have a good pattern but I’m not sure if I want to do this. I think it would be an amazing experience. But I also feel that I’d miss out on fun or stupid section moments 
or that I’d have to yell at friends and they would become frustrated with me.
Any advice from other Drum Majors?? Thanks!
Being a drum major is a great honor! I would try-out, if you don’t make it, hey at least you get to march! If you do make it, it’s really good to try something new, if your friends are really into marching band they shouldn’t care, because you’d just be doing their job, if they get frustrated with you, then they aren’t the best friends because you would be doing something that is hard for a lot of people to do, you probably won’t have much trouble though. If you make drum major and decide you Absolutely hate it, stick with it for the season, then next season you can go back to marching! Hope i helped! have fun in marching band!
