About flute…….?
1)how many year to learn the flutes then can start to join orchestra ?
2)how many flutist on orchestra ?
3)if buy flute…then buy Yamaha YFL-211 or Yamaha YFL-221 ?
The length of time it takes to learn the flute, will depend on how much practise you do and whether you have a talent for it or not.
I would say on average to get into a fairly good amateur orchestra you would usually need to have been playing for 4 – 5 years but again this would depend on the overall standard of the orchestra.
You may be able to find an ensemble catered towards beginners and then progress into an intermediate ensemble and then later into an orchestra.
Usually there are 2 flutes in a “standard” orchestra and often a piccolo player too. But some pieces require three, four or more flutes.
I have to say the yamaha flutes my students play on have been 100% reliable and would highly recommend them to anyone, saying that they are probably the most expensive “entry” level flute, but it would see you through to approximately Grade 5/6 before the need to upgrade.
There is as far as I know very little difference between the 211 and the 221.
The 221 is a slight step up from the basic 211 model.
