College info help please? 
*Musical Performance – Percussion or Drum Set*?
(also if anyone has a suggestion of a college id appreciate it) – I’m currently a high school freshman, but ive known since 5th grade that i want to major in music and make a career of it. I’m a percussionist and my favorite is drum set (rock, jazz, or broadway type music – i know some colleges have 2 seperate classes for percussion versus set)
anyways.. I have a list of about 5 or 6 colleges to look into currently (only one that’s in my state is LSU) but on all their websites i cant seem to find info on audition requirements, or any info about the degree itself. Is there anywhere i can find this? or am i just blind?
my current list is: LSU, Univ or North Texas, UT at Austin, Berklee, Eastman, and Juliard. These are the colleges ive been told about or heard of, but i’m sure theres plenty more out there
Haha, you’re just BLIND. No, Just Kidding! If you listed the schools, I could have searched it for you. Anyway, go to the school’s website – then find the link to the school of music website. From that website there should be “admissions” or “how to apply” that will provide you with application information and audition information somewhere. You can also email the teacher of your instrument or the dean (or anyone for that matter – they can direct you to the write person to speak with) and they can give you a link to the information you need. I would be able to tell you basic audition information, but I have no clue about drum set/percussion (I am only familiar with the other instruments).
Hopefully you can edit your post with the names of the school so I can help you – but it should be on the “admissions”/”how to apply” part of the MUSIC SCHOOL’S website (not the actual school’s website, unless it’s a conservatory of course, but go to the school or music’s website to get your info).
