How to Dremel a dew claw?
I just bought a Dremel last week (cordless Mini Mite), since nail clippers don’t work so well for my dogs. I love this thing!! I am having trouble Dremeling my female’s dew claws. Does anyone have any experience with this? The sanding drum seems to be too close to her pad/skin, and I’m afraid of burning her with it. (I’ve already managed to take the skin off of my own knuckles with the thing). Her dew claws are very overgrown, so I am thinking that I should buy a clipper and clip the dews short(er), and then use the Dremel to maintain them short, as with all her other nails?
I don’t like using clippers, the Dremel works better for me. Haven’t tried it with my male yet, but my female has no problem with it; if anyone has been considering trying the Dremel on their own dogs, I would reccomend it.
i would recomend going to the groomers ask them to show you i cant explaine on here but yes cutting the nail then using the dremil is best the results will be good also start from underneath and round them ti the top so you get an even file
