Cello Carrying
tuning my cello?
i tuned my cello in the right pitches and everything but when i try to compare it to another cello’s sound from a recording or something, it sounds a lot like a double bass. i really don’t think it is though because it doesn’t look as big as one. i got it on amazon. ok i understand that, but why does it sound like it’s an octave down from what it’s suppose to be
hey i am a very experienced cello player,
check your strings and the strings pitches should be (from left to right)c,g,d,a
check your hand positions, im guessing you just switched from a 3/4 sized cello.
the 4/4 or full sized cello is a lot larger so you have to space apart your fingers a lot more.(when i switched cello sizes, my fingers were completely off pitch)
if all else fails, shift your hand up maybe a whole step or take your cello to a teacher
