changing guitar strings on an acoustic guitar (not a regular guitar setup)?
i just got an art&lutherie guitar last year and ive been extremely satisfied with it. I thought it was about time to change the strings out for some better ones but as i started to i noticed that where the strings are connected at the bottom they are sort of squeezed between a little peg and the guitar, and i cant figure out how to undo it! what is this called and how can i get the strings off of there!
go down to your local music store
they will have a “String winder” that has a peg puller in it
$2-3 about??
You can use it to pull the pegs out, without breaking them.
or messing up the bridge.
loosen the string first,
and only do a couple at a time
This way your guitar maintains tension on the top,
which is good for it
I cut the strings, so they are about 3″ past than the tuning head
